It is easy to feel lost in the complexity of our current world.
The school of though helps you to develop a deeper understanding of the world, your role in it, and the ways you can contribute to it. Regular schools focus on a "field or work or study" and often do not assist you to develop the knowledge and skills to deal with life in general and its basics in particular. Many higher-educated people experience their lack of preparation for the "real world" as something that keeps them from realizing their true ambitions, as something that frustrates a truly satisfying (and healthy) life course, or as something that makes it difficult to bring basic aspects of life under their command.
The School of Understanding helps you to improve the quality of your thoughts and activities as measured by the responsible autonomy with which you conduct your daily life. Plain, simple, and far from easy.
The more realistic your thoughts and the more effective your skills, the more effective and productive your daily activities and its sum-total: your life. This has everything to do with the concepts of adulthood, the educated mind, identity development, and becoming the authority of your own life.
The School of Understanding offers a a single 21st-century skills course that consists of two intertwined and complementary parts:

the Thought Course challenges you to improve your belief-set so that you become (more) fully aware of why you believe what you believe and that your core beliefs are realistic, reliable, and productive, and
- the Skill Course enhances your autonomy by extending your skill set using vegetable farming and designing & building a tiny house — both in the most sustainable way possible — as central activities.
These will be given on the same day ever other Saturday (the other week no classes). The maximal group size is 15. The target audience for the 2020-version is young adults.
